Last year

Google entered the world of tablets with the Nexus 7 , one of the first to design a gadget with Asus offering a full Android experience “pure” without modifications to the user interface. Its greatest feature however was its balance price / quality , it was about $ 200 and had good performance comparing with the competition available in the market. To achieve that price, the company eliminated several features that are now considered essential, such as the front camera and the ability to expand with microSD memory cards.

Now, a year after its launch, his 2013 version was released . Here is a review with both positive and negative characteristics:

Design

Aesthetically the design did not change much of the 2012 model. An important detail to note are the edges of the tablet, the which were reduced. Similar to what happened with the new models of iPad mini, now the tablet can handle more easily with one hand thanks to the reduction in weight and size. Someone with small hands should have no problem taking it.

As for the buttons, the tablet only has the on / off and volume, in addition to the headphone jack and the micro-usb connector.

flip we find the first difference in hardware: Instead of a speaker as in the version of 2012, this new model has two stereo speakers located at ends of the tablet

Another great features of its predecessor the difference is that has a notification light on the screen that lights up when a new email or message arrives.

Screen

Here

the device shines. The screen is 7 inches, reaches a resolution of 1920×1200 and 323ppi has only three ppi unless the new iPad Mini with Retina Display . What do you translate that? Both images and text are very crisp. Whether reading an ebook or watch a movie in high definition, the screen allows the view to get tired and the colors are clear and smooth.

Cameras

Unlike the previous model, now the Nexus 7 has two HD cameras, a 1.2 MP front-enough to use applications like Skype and Hangout – 5MP rear and is capable of recording in 1080p.

Battery

In an interesting move, Asus reduced the battery size compared to the old Nexus 7 going from 4325 mAh to 3950 mAh . This was probably to reduce the thickness of the tablet a few millimeters.

While its size is smaller, experience no major problems, thanks to software optimizations, the battery has a duration similar to its predecessor.

play GTA: Vice City for example, the battery lasted about four hours, while browsing sites and listening to music by the battery held out for about six hours

.

For those who like to play on tablets, the Nexus July 2013 can be a very good platform. It has a 1.5 GHz processor Sapdragon Qualcomm S4 Pro and 2GB of RAM , so it is able to run most games Google Play. Whether racing games like Real Racing 3 or sports like Virtua Tennis , high definition screen and stereo speakers make the experience very smooth and without delays.

IN BRIEF

Points against

tablet only comes in two sizes 16 or 32 GB . One of the major flaws is that can not put an external memory card to expand its capacity , so that if the user runs out of space after lowering many applications your only option is to delete games or apps you no longer use.

Pros

Your screen resolution and size. The tablet comes with Jelly Bean, and by Google that is not packed with extra unnecessary apps, but with the necessary added as Chrome and Gmail to make first use of the tablet do not miss or on anything essential.
