No question, the official release of Android 4.4 is coming and with it increase the pace rumors. If we have seen data, images and benchmarks on the Nexus 5 which accompany the new version of the operating system, now we dive into huge strings of characters looking for information on “KitKat”. That’s because the latest leak comes as file “log”, that is, a text file in which the system stores data or information relating to its operation. A similar file has appeared on the network, and has some interesting details.

For starters, a couple of entries in the log give clues about the hardware with which will the Nexus 5, and in particular are two details that did not yet know, as the camera will have image stabilization, but the fact that refers both to the front camera and to the rear indicates that this stabilization may be in software. Furthermore, it appears that the Nexus 5 is compatible with USB OTG, ie, we can connect a USB device and the system will recognize . Especially useful for copying files from an external hard drive without using a computer, for example.

regard to Android 4.4 itself, the main changes concern the apps included by default in the system. In The Free Android we have spoken on more than one occasion that this is Google’s hidden weapon to eliminate fragmentation. The logic is that by including fewer default apps with Android, those devices can not update to the latest version of the operating system itself that can access the latest versions of the apps .

also the apps included are more advanced versions of which are now in Google Play , so we can expect updates soon. These are the versions that exist now and those that come by default on the Nexus 5.

Other minor details is that the Gallery and Camera apps are separated (finally), a new phone app and an app for NFC. Equally expected functions are already present as the ability to set permissions for apps.
