Google took the initiative to disseminate Lollipop between Nexus 5, Nexus 7 WiFi (2012 and 2013) and Nexus 10 on Wednesday. The Nexus 6 Motorola and HTC Nexus 9 also received updates for bug fixes. The line includes the Motorola Moto X Moto G, G 4G-LTE Moto, Moto E, Ultra Droid, Droid Droid Maxx and Mini.

LG Lollipop also come to G3, Nvidia Edition Shield and Google Play devices .

While it seems that the whole family of Android eventualmentra previous generation receive the OS, we’ve created a quick reference for devices without the final version of the OS.

Recently, Android Central reported that the factory image for the Nexus 4 Lollipop has arrived. The source listed the instruction to manually update a Nexus device in another report, recommending that the knowledge of the Android SDK, Terminal (OS X or Linux) or Command Prompt (Windows) is needed to prevent unwanted events during installation.

Installing a factory image erases all data, told Ars Technica. The process removes all stored information, so it is recommended to back up everything.

If waiting is not an option, here is a guide for the Nexus download (via Google Developer) to start. This list has been simplified; there are other ways to receive the update. We are not responsible for errors in the process.

1. Get the “Eclipse ADT Bundle” here. Ars Technica said it will work with Windows, OS X and Linux.

2. Simply click and download the correct factory image for Nexus 4 (LRX21T). Extract it.

3. Connect the device to a computer via USB. Starts the device in fastboot to use adb tool or mode “combo of buttons.” In the first, run “adb reboot bootloader” while the device is on.

4. “Button Combo” is a choice: turn off the device, the device turns on and immediately hold the assigned key combination

5.. Unlock the bootloader of the device if necessary via “fastboot oem unlock.”

6. A confirmation screen appears indicating that all data will be deleted.

7. Open a terminal and go to the directory of the extracted image.

8. Run the script “flash-all.” Once the process is completed, the device.

9 restart. Starts the device in fastboot mode again.

10. Run “fastboot oem lock.”

If you do all this is tedious, you could wait for the official update. A simple manual review can be done by going to Settings & gt; About phone & gt; System updates. Motorola encourages its users to visit the updates page to see the status of your device.

If your device is fortunate to have the update, Forbes cited some tips to start your way through the new OS .

Choose your interrupts

Lollipop has promised not to disrupt unnecessarily. Through the new option of interruptions, users choose when and who will be notified via Settings & gt; Interruptions.

Easy Wake

With Lollipop, touch the screen twice wakes the device. The days of presiionar the power button are over.

Nail to Display

Multitasking? Nailing apps to your screen is now possible. Go to Settings & gt; Security and kindle “screen pinning.”

Smart Lock

Bluetooth or NFC devices can be used to unlock your device. Go to Settings & gt; Security & gt; Smart Lock and add the secondary device.

Privacy Protection

The reports are now coming to the lock screen, which is convenient for the owner of the device. Although you may not want others to see your messages and reminders. Turn off the option to go to Settings & gt; Sound & amp; Notification & gt; When Device is Locked & gt; select “do not show notifications at all.”
