It has taken, but Android 5.0.2 finally available on more devices.

The new version of Google’s Android, 5.0.2, is now available for download for WiFi and cellular Nexus 7 tablet, the Nexus WiFi and cellular July 2013, and Nexus 10. All tablets were mentioned in Android 5.0.1, while in July 2013 3G Nexus Android 4.4.4 KitKat was, making this the first taste of Lollipop for the device.

While there are reports of users on a pitch over-the-air (OTA), the launch of Android 5.0 firmware from Google has been somewhat erratic, even in its Nexus series. Luckily, however, all factory images are available through the official site of Google Android development. Of course, this involves manually flash the device, and those who do not know the process should wait.

Not many details about what has Android 5.0.2, but it seems many bug fixes. Shortly after the release of Android 5.0 on Nexus devices, users began to complain of many problems. Although errors (as in software releases) did not affect all users, many complained probleams sound, connectivity and memory. Even some said their device was unusable.

The same problems affected some Nexus devices, and Android 5.0.2 does not fix everything. Few reports indicate that some users still have problems, but in general it seems that helped more than hurt.

It is unclear whether Google will continue to launch Android 5.0.2 Lollipop other devices in the Nexus family. The Mountain View giant allegedly launched Android 5.1 sometime in February, so we could wait until then.

Of course, no timeline affects Android phones that are not Nexus or Google Play editions. Android updates take longer to get to phones made by companies like Samsung and HTC due to fragmentation of the development process. Google initially launch the base code of Android (which then comes to Nexus devices and Editions Google Play soon after), which is then taken by Samsung who modified the operating system for its own intefaces (the Samsung is TouchWiz and HTC’s Sense ). This can add weeks to the process, and if operators are involved, even more.
