Android Silver dies, Nexus wins – Android Help

Nexus wins the battle Android Silver. The latter platform could have been the reason why the company have decided to shelve the Nexus platform. However, after different information about Android Silver, it seems that Google has decided to choose Nexus as the main platform, and not throw the Silver Android platform.

A few months ago appeared the news that the Nexus program could be closed by Google. Apparently, a new platform called Android Silver could replace the Nexus. This platform would allow any company to launch a smartphone or tablet with the features of the Nexus , as long as it met certain conditions. Google is responsible for promoting the devices, which would be sold in physical stores, not only on Google Play. Well, it seems that Android Silver will never become a reality.

As it seems, according to sources from The Information, responsible for Google to had managed to build the project was Nikesh Arora . The problem is that Google has abandoned Arora, and with him gone Android Silver. Neither the manufacturers smartphones and tablets, and operators seemed happy with the new platform, preferring the Nexus platform. In principle, it seems that the Nexus platform hurts them more, since it is very economical to launch high-end smartphones, without the possibility of being customized by operators. But we do not know is that Android Silver project conditions could be worse. At least, no longer have a smartphone Nexus only a year, but would have different smartphones on the market without customizing operators without customizing manufacturers. To this must be added that it is possible that some of the conditions that Google had fixed had to do with the price. They could not be sold as the Nexus, but maybe with a lower level than the flagships of the market price. Anyway, what seems clear is that Google would come to dominate even more the smartphone market, and that is something that neither the companies nor the operators want; domain have enough already with the operating system.

So, no one at Google has continued to work on Android Silver, and it appears that the project is dead. The positive is that Nexus will continue active, and every year we will have a smartphone in the high-end market, it costs half than its rivals in the same range
