Marshmallow install Android 6.0 on Nexus – Androidphoria (blog)

As you know, today has been revealed the new version of the operating system of Google. Finally Android M will be known as Android 6.0 Marshmallow , and the announcement of the name has been launched the latest evidence of this version of the operating system , however it is very similar to the final version , so if you have a Nexus device you can now enjoy the latest mobile operating system from Google.

Before explaining how to install Android 6.0 Marshmallow in your Nexus, I must say that Android offers below M preview 2 installed on the terminal, this new version will arrive via OTA , but if you can not wait to try the new features, you can install it manually, although you will lose all data you have saved in your phone, so you have to evaluate whether it is worth the installation and restoration or wait until you get the new version via OTA.

Before you begin the process should make a backup of your data, because they all cleared to install the new ROM.

The next step is download the Android 6.0 ROM Marshmallow corresponding to your Nexus:

You also need to have Android SDK installed on your computer and the ADB tools. Once you have all the necessary software, we can begin with the installation process.

  1. The first thing to do is extract the compressed folder that contains Android 6.0 Marshmallow for your Nexus and copy it to the folder where you have the tools ADB .
  2. Connect your Nexus to your computer using the USB cable, open a command window and type “ adb devices ” to make sure the device has been detected, otherwise need to update the drivers.
  3. Unlock the bootloader of your Nexus in case you do not have already done with the command “ fastboot oem unlock “.
  4. Restart your Nexus in download mode with the command “ adb reboot bootloader “.
  5. From the very Command Prompt window select the folder containing the files of Android 6.0 decompressed by typing the path in the command prompt or by dragging the folder onto the window.
  6. Once selected folder type the command “ flash-all.bat ” and begin installing Android 6.0 on your Nexus Marshmallow.
