When an operating system experiences an update, many user complaints about failures present therein. Usually these failures affect the performance or connectivity, but they are minor faults that are easily solved through patch releases.

However, there are rare instances in which an update can make a device unusable, as has happened to thousands of Google Nexus with Android 5.0.2 July 2013 that have bricked . It is not known exactly what causes the brick, but according to many users, occurred while applications Google Play is unloaded, which suggests a failure of Google Play Services.

The hashtag # nexus7bricked is already renowned in Twitter, as many of the affected users have expressed a problem in the social network, also mentioning the accounts of Google and Asus, the manufacturer of device. At the moment, has been no official response from any of the companies . In these cases, it would be logical that Google, responsible for updating, by all affected devices were done, but since most of them are already out of warranty, neither Asus nor Google are required to replace or repair many of the affected tablets.

At the moment, the solution to the problem is unknown, although it may be possible to manually fix flash a factory image, since the update via OTA is not possible, unable to turn on the device.
